Alfons Maria Mucha(Czech: [ˈalfons ˈmuxa] (
listen); 24 July 1860 – 14 July 1939), often known in English and French as Alphonse Mucha, was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist,known best for his distinct style. He produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements, postcards, and designs.
Josef Vlastimil Burian, better known as Vlasta Burian, (9 April 1891, Liberec – 31 January 1962, Prague) was a Czech stage and film actor, singer, comedian, footballer and film director. In the Czech Republic, he is known as Král komiků (King of Comedians).
Jan Evangelista Purkyně (Czech: [ˈjan ˈɛvaŋɡɛlɪsta ˈpurkɪɲɛ] ( listen); also written Johann Evangelist Purkinje) (17 December or 18 December 1787 – 28 July 1869) was a Czech anatomist and physiologist.
He was one of the best known scientists of his time. In 1839, he coined
the term 'protoplasm' for the fluid substance of a cell. His son was
the painter Karel Purkyně.
Such was his fame that when people from outside Europe wrote letters to
him, all that they needed to put as the address was "Purkyně, Europe".
